I am working from home this afternoon. That means I should take some extra time and make a proper lunch but I didn’t. I threw together my rather standard go-to salad and dressing. Clearly, not so fancy but still yummy. I made my usual dressing of dijon mustard and apple cinder vinegar.

While eating, I read this:

There were a bunch of article about my favorite thing, food!

There was a spotlight on a farm in upstate New York that treats their pigs with love and not antibiotics and a farmer in Milwaukee who is trying to bring fresh food to the inner city.
I enjoyed the article on the Lewis-Battey family from LA. They are the typical American family with a mom, dad, son, daughter, and a crazy-busy life. The article mentioned 10 time saving tips.

The 10-Step Time Saving Plan is as follows:
- Learn to cook
- Set aside blocks of time
- Let your fingers do the shopping
- Organize your kitchen
- Prep, prep, prep
- Involve the kids
- Simmer–and then forget about it
- Don’t be afraid to use frozen veggies
- Establish mealtimes
- Rethink what “eating well” means
I love rule 5. Prep prep prep. My morning are a million times quicker when I can grab pre-wash and pre-cut veggies to add to a green juice or pre-chopped romaine lettuce for a quick salad.
