Does anybody remember Now and Laters? I loved those chewy little squares when I was a kid but I haven’t had them in years. I don’t remember the last time I even saw them in the stores. I hope they are still being made because the next generation of kids needs to have the experience of endlessly chewing and gnawing on a hard, brightly-colored cube of sugar.
My salad today was just like Now and Laters. Well, sort of.

I tried a new sea vegetable today and boy oh boy was it chewy. Just like a Now and Later but without the bright color or sugar. I tried Laver with my salad for lunch today.

I have been eating dulse lately but decided to try something new. I paid $3.99 for the bag and I have a feeling that it is going to last a while since I don’t plan to eat this every single day.

The back of the bag said that it was chewy but I had no idea how chewy. It really did remind me of eating Now and Laters as a kid because I felt like I was chewing and chewing and chewing without making any progress.

I did like that it was less salty than dulse. It had a nutter flavor to it and that was nice.

I made a quick dressing with apple cinder vinegar, Celtic sea salt, agave syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It was really sweet.
What candy did you eat as a kid and haven’t seen in years? It has been ages since I have eaten Warheads, Candy Buttons, or Fruit Strip Gum.

Do you remember the Whatchamacallit candy bars?? I haven’t seen those in years, for sure.
All the sweets I used to eat as a kid I can still get now, although they’re about 10 times more expensive.
I just had a now and later not too long ago. It was an individual one, but it was a lot softer than I remember.
The laver sounds pretty interesting!
What an adventurous little foodie! I have never even heard of those things
I used to love now and laters as a kid.
I haven’t tried laver before. I do like kelp and dulse.
I remember those candy dots that came on pieces of paper as a kid. I never could figure them out, but they always intrigued me!
What do you do with dulce? I’ve seen it at a health food store around here, and have been tempted…
I like to add dulse to salads. I have heard that it is great in soups too but I have not tried that yet. It is very salty so make sure the salad dressing isn’t very strong. Hope that helped
