The Sky is Falling Down

Felice, martedì!

I hope you all had a wonderful Tuesday.

I left work today with a small internal dilemma.  I debated between going home to get a snack and then driving to the grocery store or toughing though my grumbling tummy and drive right to the store and not go home for a snack.  I chose that later.  I was hungry but it was definitely the better decision.  Il migliore decisione. The sun was just about to set and the sky was amazing. I am usually tired (from the long workday) and cranky (from the hungry belly) but seeing such a pretty sky made me giddy.  I was in such a good mood during rush hour traffic as I drove all the way across town to my favorite grocery co-op.  I could sense that the other drivers on the road were in a rush to get home for dinner but I was actually happy when the light was red and traffic slowed.

Red lights and traffic equals taking pictures in the car.  This isn’t safe but I couldn’t help it.

The sky was just so darn pretty.

Sky is Fallin' Down

So come on and fly with me,

Sky is Fallin' Down

as we make our great escape.

Sky is Fallin' Down

Indefinitely, not probably, and honestly I'm down like the economy

The pictures don’t really do the sky justice but you get the idea.  It was just beautiful.

Now dinner …

Sky is Falling Down

Can you say vegetables?  I had steamed asparagus, brussel sprouts, and broccoli over quinoa.  Tre vegetables for dinner!

Sky is Falling Down

Quinoa is definitely my new favorite thing.  It cooks in 10 minutes — perfezione!

Sky is Falling Down

Last week, I mentioned professed my love for our grocery co-op, Good Foods. If you are looking for a co-op in your state, check out this site. I never thought that I would be that crazy person who drives across town to buy groceries but I just love shopping at that store.  I feel like I am at home when I am there.  The store is filled with familiar faces since it is a small store with a handful of employees.  I also stop in to buy vegetables and fruit at least twice a week so I know most of the employees at this point.  I guess in my world, I don’t have a Cheers bar, I have a grocery store.  Do you have a favorite grocery store?  Where do you like to shop?

Enjoy Biggest Loser!

Glee tomorrow, get ready.

Buona notte, ragazzi.

My Mum does the main grocery shop and I buy anything I want myself and do tend to go to the same places. I do sometimes like to venture to new stores, but I’m a creature of habbit and end up back at my usual stores. The only shops I love to browse around and explore are vintage shops and charity shops.

Quinoa is usually in the rice/macaroni section. I think it is easier to find seasoned boxed quinoa (near the rice) than it is to find plain, unseasoned quinoa. Hope that helps and you can find it!

That sky is great. I love staring at nature while driving(or rather, being driven, because otherwise it would be dangerous. That bowl looks so nice and green! I love it when a plate just looks healthy

    Beautiful photos!
I love to shop at this local Milwaukee grocery store and restaurant, Beans & Barley. It has been around for ages and is so convenient. Their restaurant is casual yet amazing, decadent yet affordable. They have a full-service deli and have lots of vegan / vege options.
The coolest thing is they are so rooted in the community… a few years ago my work put on a surprise parking lot concert there with Perry Farrell (from Jane’s Addiction / Porno for Pyros). It was done at lunchtime and sooo cool to be a part of!

I absolutely love Henry’s and Fresh & Easy. Great grocery stores, and what great advice about the co-op. I’m one of those people who will drive out of her way for a great grocery store, too. ;)
